Capturing Your Baby's

MILESTONE MOMENTS!

 Your baby has finally arrived.

As a parent, you want to photograph every moment and capture it all.  I think all parents should have a digital camera and use it feverishly for those funny amazing things your baby does as they develop and grow on a daily basis.

But...

I also believe that professional photos are a great way to preserve your child’s most important milestone moments especially in their first years of life.  I know that in these difficult economic times, hiring a professional to photograph your child when you have a camera of your own may seem like a purchase you many not want to make, however, high quality professional images taken today will become treasured heirlooms for generations.

That having been said, here are some of the best reasons and  times to think about having your child photographed professionally:

THE NEWBORN SESSION

You have been through so much to bring your child into the world.

As photographers, we see and can to capture all the tiny details in an artistic way.  Providing you with images your family will cherish for generations.  Babies change very quickly in the first few days, weeks and months of life.  Don’t let this special time pass by:

BOTH AT 3 & 6 MONTHS

By both three and or six months your child is able to most likely support their head for longer periods of time.  Is filled with full smiles and twinkling eyes, they respond to people from across the room and are better able to make eye contact with the photographer.  Capturing those big beatiful eyes you see ever day.

They are strong enough to be placed in chairs with out as much slouching, hold their head up while laying on their belly and so much more.

All babies are different.  If your child has not reached some of these milestones, don’t hurry,

wait till they are ready.

 9 MONTHS

Remember you want to capture those milestones right?  As a rule, babies experience less noticeable changes between 7&8 months.   Therefore, I recommend another session wait till they are nine months.  At nine months, your child is independently sitting for longer periods of time with out toppling or having to be propped up with support.  At this point, they are able to hold toys and really show their personality. It's also a wonderful time because most babies are independent sitters but not able to walk.

ONE YEAR & BEYOND

Crawling, cruising, standing maybe even walking. Oh and don't forget...  teeth too!

One year is a HUGE milestone for sure! Schedule your appointment a few weeks or even up to two months after their first birthday depending on your child's growth process.  Remember they are going to be one for a whole year.   Wait for those moments you will enjoy your photos so much more when you don't try to rush.

So now you have an idea of what milestones to expect and what changes you may see over the first year of your child’s life.  After the first year, I recommend having your child photographed each year as close to their birthday as possible.

Mark your calendars and be ready to capture the first year of your child's life when they are changing and you will see these changes in a very noticeable way.
